Apple Unveils New iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and AI Capabilities at WWDC

At the WWDC in Cupertino, Apple introduced updates to iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and visionOS, emphasizing personalization, advanced messaging features, and enhanced user interfaces. A new AI system, Apple Intelligence, was the highlight, enhancing Siri’s capabilities, text handling, image generation, and smart notifications. The new systems will be available this fall, supporting recent devices like iPhone 15 Pro, iPads with M1 chips, and newer Macs.

 

New iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 Features

The updates bring more flexible app icon placement, customizable control centers, and improved photo galleries. iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 also introduce enhanced text formatting in Notes, emoji reactions in iMessage, and a dedicated gaming mode. iPadOS gains a new Calculator app with advanced functions.

 

macOS 15 Sequoia

macOS 15 includes AI integration, improved photo galleries, and enhanced note-taking capabilities. It also introduces better window management and the ability to mirror iPhone screens on Mac. The new Passwords app works across the Apple ecosystem, integrating with Keychain.

 

Safari and Game Development

Safari now ensures true anonymity in private browsing and introduces Highlights for location-based information. The browser also includes enhanced PiP features and AirPlay support. The Game Porting Toolkit 2 allows developers to bring more high-quality games to Mac, with new AAA titles arriving next month. Popular Ubisoft series like Prince of Persia and Assassin’s Creed, including Assassin’s Creed Shadows, will be available with improved details thanks to Metal 3, with the latter also coming to iPad.

watchOS 11 and visionOS 2

watchOS 11 features detailed health tracking with the new Vitals app, activity pause options, and improved pregnancy tracking. visionOS 2 offers new 3D photo capabilities, shared gallery viewing, and expanded virtual environments.
